As with many things in life, there's a clear advantage in being yourself; it helps finding the "nail in the haystack", those rare people that do not take your attitude as arrogance or elitism, but rather as pride and quest for perfection. With those you can build even greater things and go beyond, be yourself even more, and somehow I think that's one of the greatests gifts you can give yourself in life.
I second Cat in his comment, we talked briefly and I can tell you're not an elitist and your work IS excellent: so keep it up! And don't listen to what the others say :)
Cheers from Switzerland!

I enjoy talking to you about your work and can truthfully vouch for the fact that you are not "an elitist, arrogant jerk-face". You do your best to, pardon the expression, 'dumb down' what you do when you are explaining, so that the rest of us can understand. The only true way to be an elitist jerk is to talk about something when you know other people don't understand it, you do not explain it, and then proceed to feel smug because you understand and your audience does not.
I know its not easy, but thanks for not be an arrogant, elitist and (patiently) explaining everything so I can understand it.

I face the same reaction from many people. They believe you are arrogant and elite just because you strive for perfection—for nothing less than the best. At times, it is sad that we have so much garbage in the world because everyone "just does the things" that everyone else does. They just go about living their life with no vision, and no determination to do something great.
