AT&T + iPhone 3G + “IRU” Errors

Perhaps later I’ll expand this into a full post, but for now:

If you’re attempting to purchase an iPhone 3G at an Apple Store, and have an “IRU” error because your account is marked as corporate or has a corporate discount, do the following:

  1. Call 1-866-907-3484.
  2. Tell them you’re trying to purchase an iPhone 3G in the Apple Store, but getting IRU errors.
  3. Make sure you get the IRU, FANs, and BMG Indicator removed from your account.

They’ll call you back in 4 to 72 hours, and at that point, you should be clear to purchase an iPhone 3G at your Apple Store.
